This transparent squirrel baffler can be hung or pole mounted. The hooks that are included have the strength to hold up to 50 lbs and attaches the baffler to a tree limb or other hanging location, while the bird feeder hangs from a second hook underneath the baffle with the added benefit of partially protecting bird seed from the rain and tree debris. Most squirrels will descend the wire to the baffle and give up but a more persistent one may put its weight on it in efforts to access the bird feeder below, but after climbing onto the baffler, it will quickly tilt causing the squirrel to fall to the ground, perhaps a bit startled, but unharmed.
