Hart's Oakleaf Lettuce

This salad green has a distinct, oak leaf shape and a buttery flavor. The hearts of this plant can be cooked like spinach and have excellent flavor. While this variety is a quick growing one, it will not withstand hot weather without becoming bitter, so the earlier this is planted and harvested, the better.
