Late Fall & Early Winter Fertilization is Key for a Healthier Lawn

As the colder months approach, giving your lawn a little extra care can set the stage for a lush, vibrant spring. Late fall and early winter fertilization helps nourish the roots, allowing them to absorb and store essential nutrients that will not only enhance your lawn's winter resilience but also promote an earlier, healthier green-up in the spring.
The Co-Op offers four types of late fall and winterizer fertilizers to suit different needs:
Scotts Winter Guard Fall Weed & Feed
Green Mountain ‘One Step’ (fertilizer with lime)
The best time to apply these fertilizers is after the grass has stopped growing but before the ground freezes—typically in Essex County, this window is during November or early December. By timing your application just right, you’ll help your lawn prepare for the winter and get a jump-start on a green, healthy lawn come spring.
