Sweet Paws Rescue Adoption and Microchipping Event
The wonderful local animal rescue organization, Sweet Paws, is coming back to the Co-Op! They’ll be here on Saturday, October 23rd to host an adoption event and free microchipping outside our store from 11 am to 1 pm.
Sweet Paws Rescue is a non-profit animal rescue that, though based in Massachusetts, works with rescue teams in Mississippi and Alabama to get homeless, sick, or injured dogs out of danger and off the streets, provide medical care and transport, foster homes through the adoption process, and connect these animals with loving families.
They have an amazing track record with adoptions, and have a gallery of success stories on their website that make it easy to understand their passion and experience when it comes to animal rescue.
Adopting a dog through Sweet Paws requires an application which can be found here.
Their website has a very thorough and informative FAQ, and if you have further questions about the adoption process or their upcoming event, don’t hesitate to ask them.
Even if you aren’t looking for a new addition to your family, the microchipping they will provide at this event is definitely worth it if you haven’t done that for your pet already. The microchipping will be provided by a veterinarian on site and is completely free of charge. It’s worth it for the peace of mind if your animal ever gets lost, that they can be so easily identified wherever they may go. Microchips are minimally invasive and only need to be checked on yearly by a vet.
To pre-register for the event and get your dog microchipped for free, fill out this application. Dogs must have proof of rabies vaccination in order to apply.
Back in July, Sweet Paws visited the Co-Op and it was a huge success! It was great to see all the wonderful rescued dogs from Sweet Paws find their forever homes. If you’d like to come and be a part of it, whether you’re looking to adopt or would simply like to meet some cute dogs and learn more about Sweet Paws Rescue, all are welcome.
