Hart's Pineapple Ground Cherry

A member of the tomato family, ground cherrys are not cherries, but rather a vining fruit that is native to the Americas and Eastern Europe. Each fruit has a papery husk and a flavor that is similar to tropical fruit. The flavor is a blend of pineapple, apricot, vanilla, and a little tomato. Each plant produces hundreds of fruit, starting in 75 days from setting out transplants.
